Products I Use To Minimize Oily Skin

Hey, friends!

I hope you’ve been enjoying the WARM weather while it lasts! Here in Massachusetts, the temps are all over the place. This week there was a couple of beautiful, dry, not overly hot, breezy days and I loved every moment of it. With the crazy heat this summer I honestly forgot what it was like to not have humidity…

Anyway, let me get to the point. I’ve discussed this in my Skincare Routine post a little while back and I’ll probably always mention it when talking about beauty products. I have oily skin. I have a hard time wearing any sort of face makeup like foundation because it will melt off.

Maybe some day I will find a foundation I like but for now, I stick to a little concealer for my blemishes and that’s it.

Despite not wearing foundation I still have the issue of being very shiny without dusting highlighter all over my face. At times I definitely shine bright like a diamond…and am always hyper aware of how greasy my skin looks and feels.

I have a couple of products I’d like to share that I’ve been using for those who identify with my oily skin “issue”.

First I use the Sunday Riley Martian Mattifying Melting Water-Gel Toner I purchased from Sephora. The price is $55 and I know what you may be thinking…ehh it’s pricey. Well, you get 4.4 fl oz in this beautiful bottle and a little goes a LONG way. I promise you! Don’t press the pump too hard because then so much product comes out, you need very little and it gets the job done.

This product is amazing! When you put it on your face it turns into a watery gel that cools your skin. Also, the best part is it does not make my face feel or look greasy!

I use it once in the morning and at night. It is specifically formulated for oily and acne prone skin. And since using it I’ve noticed my skin hasn’t been so inflamed with redness and my breakouts have been minimal. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND SUNDAY RILEY! I think this is my first Sunday Riley purchase and I only hear amazing things about this skincare line, so I would definitely give it a try!

The second product I’d like to share is the Becca Blotting Powder Perfector that I also purchased from Sephora. It costs $38 and this product lasted a while for me too. I also used it so much that I hit pan which is amazing clearly you know I use it a lot.

Essentially the Becca Blotting Powder Perfector is an oil-absorbing powder that mattifies skin. I can attest that it does exactly what it’s supposed to do. I’ve actually been using this product for a year and find it a necessary part of my makeup routine.

My T-Zone is so0o0o0o shiny, especially during the warmer months and this powder minimizes the shine and makes my skin look like it has a soft matte finish. The product comes with a little powder sponge but I just use a little brush and quickly dust it all over my face and VOILA MATTE! And it lasts for a while, I honestly don’t think anything is going to make my skin LESS SHINY FOR HOURS AND HOURS, but this product really gets the job done for what I need during the day and night.

I’m going to keep an eye out for more products geared for oily skin and hopefully find the best products to minimize the shine you and I don’t want…

Until next time!

xx Aline
