Outfit Details: blouse, Grandpa Store/Stylein (navy color available); trousers, topshop (similar pair); shoes, ASOS (similar); bag, vintage.
GenZ Yellow has become a massive trend as of late. I’ve seen this color everywhere, and I’m not mad about it. I think I first discovered the “GenZ Yellow” was a thing because of this article I read on Man Repeller.
I have always loved mustard colored clothing and had been looking for the perfect mustard top to wear during the summer. I found the top I’m wearing in the photos above when I was visiting a friend in Sweden at a store called Grandpa. It’s a very aesthetically pleasing store that carries a lot of Swedish and International designer label clothing.
I bought this top on a whim after trying on many items that just did not fit my petite physique. It was a LITTLE expensive, but I think worth it because I genuinely think it’s a beautiful piece. I love the color, fit, and it’s versatility. Besides loving the color, I also liked the sleeves. They have a cute frill element.
I didn’t get to wear the top this summer and had been looking through my closet to put together some outfits. My sister and I came up with this one. It’s a little business casual and to make it more of an everyday outfit I’d probably wear the outfit with converse.
I’ve been going to networking events through my job a lot more these days, and I think this is the perfect outfit for one. I’m not usually one to dress “professionally” on a regular basis, but I’m proud of this OOTD.
A lot of the pieces I’m wearing are currently unavailable where I originally purchased them, but I suggested similar items in the links under the second image in this post.
I also wanted to share a few items that I think would represent the GenZ Yellow trend and still be perfect for the fall season.
This sweater has details similar to my top (FRILL), and it’s perfect for transitional fall weather!
2. June & Hudson Ruffle Midi Dress from Nordstrom ($69)
I love this dress! I actually want it for myself and who know’s maybe I’ll jump the gun. Now I feel like this item kinda falls under the GenZ Yellow category, but I might be wrong. It is a gold tone dress and also has metallic stripes (you have to look carefully OR check out the description on Nordstrom’s site). Either way, I think it’s a beautiful and perfect for an evening out.
3. Raw Edge Kick Flare Trousers from TOPSHOP ($95)
If you wanna try something a little different and wear some GenZ Yellow pants, I would say try these! They are a bit pricey, but I think they work well for the season. If you’re the type of person, who is genuinely into trends, then these trousers are for you. They have the raw/frayed trim I’m seen on a lot of denim lately.
So I know I suggested a few items from some major retailers and if you’re up for the challenge, I would say try to find items similar to these by thrifting if you’re up for the challenge. I’m working on limiting my own purchasing from fast fashion retailers. It’s difficult but baby steps, right?
I’m working on limiting myself from purchasing from fast fashion retailers and transitioning into a more ethical clothing lifestyle.
It’s difficult but baby steps, right?
Until next time!
