Welcome to the first look in my jewel tone style series! I had been playing around with this idea for a little while and am so excited to finally share all the looks.
This style series will feature five outfits that I put together to be monochrome — meets color blocking. I am featuring only jewel tones for these outfits, and they are Sapphire, Emerald, Amethyst, Ruby Red, and Pink Diamond.
Sapphire was hard to pull together because I felt like an all blue look can be a little overwhelming, but I don’t feel that away anymore.
The first article of clothing I found for this look was the blue coat. I got it at a thrift store in Brooklyn, New York and FELL IN LOVE WITH IT. From there I decided I wanted this look to be more casual. The most challenging part of styling this outfit was finding a top and bottom that didn’t look too monochrome. I was anxious I wasn’t going to get this look right, but I am really proud of the results!
I can go on and on about the process I had to create this outfit and honestly, if you’re interested — ask me about it! Anyway, I want to talk about is the bag I’m featuring in this look! I had the opportunity to model some pieces from Oona’s, a local vintage shop for a few looks in this series.
I needed an accessory to tie the sapphire look together, and the box bag was perfect! It is still available, so if you wanna go check it out and snag it definitely visit Oona’s in Harvard Square!
